The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Fijai Senior High School’s Headmaster, Kenneth Agbomodze, from his position for allegedly charging unapproved fees.
In a press release on April 18, the GES requested the Western Region Education Director to take over as principal, this is necessary so that investigations into the allegations can begin. Two weeks have been given for the investigation committee to report back to upper management with its results.
“Management of Ghana Education Service(GES) has interdicted Mr. Kenneth Agbomadze, Headmaster of Fijai Senior High School with immediate effect, pending further investigation into an alleged collection of illegal fees in the school.” the statement reads
“Mr. Agbomadze is to handover the administration of the school to the Western Regional Director of Education. The investigative committee has been given two weeks to submit its report to Management.”

Fijai Senior High School Address
Located in the Western Region of Ghana, Fijai Senior High School (formerly known as Fijai Secondary School) is a senior high school open to both sexes.
The school opened in 1952 as Sekondi Day Secondary School as part of the Gold Coast Government’s Accelerated Plan for Education from 1951.
On January 29, 1952, Paramount Chief Nana Kobina Nketsiah IV of Essikado officially opened the school to a total of 38 students (30 boys and 8 girls). The facility used for the school was the former Sekondi hospital.
In 1955, Fijai Secondary School relocated to its current location, where it has since changed its name to Fijai Senior High School.
