Felix Kwakye Ofosu Releases Alleged Expenditure Made By The Presidency In 2022

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a former deputy minister of communications, has allegedly leaked a list of expenditures made by the President and Vice President’s Office.

According to the report, the presidency spent a whopping GH¢15 million on car tyres and batteries in just nine months of 2022. A total of 51 million Ghana cedis was spent on fuel at the Presidency of Ghana in just nine months during the year 2022, according to the findings.

Among the other items on the list are GH¢4.8 million for cabinet retreats, GH¢6.5 million for the purchase of new vehicles, and GH¢17 million for regional tours by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Part of the list shared by Kwakye Ofosu read: “GH¢6.6 million spent on Office equipment, furniture, and fitting at the presidency in only 9 months; GH¢4 million spent by Bawumia on “urgent and emergency activities; GH¢6.6 million spent on IT and network charges at the presidency in only 9 months.”

On Saturday, February 12, 2023, the former deputy communication minister tweeted the following list with the caption, “Consider the following expenditure made by the presidency last year.”

  1. GHS15 million was spent on car tyres and
    batteries in only 9 months.

2. GHS59 million spent on Operational
Enhancement of the President in only 9
months.

3. GHS51 million spent on fuel bills at the
presidency in only 9 months.

4. GHS17 million spent on the President’s
regional tours.

5. GHS4.8 million spent on just one cabinet
retreat.

6. GHS6.5 million spent on the procurement
of new vehicles at the Presidency in only 9
months.

7. GHS6.6 million spent on Office equipment,
furniture and fitting at the presidency in only
9 months.

8. GHS4 million spent by Bawumia on
“urgent and emergency activities”

9. GHS6.6 million spent on IT and network
charges at the presidency in only 9 months.
