Ghanaian gospel artist Empress Gifty has held the final funeral rites for her mom Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan, affectionately called ‘Agaga.’
As reported by Ghanaweb, the funeral took place on January 18, 2024, at the Tema Community 8 School Park, drawing hundreds of mourners, including notable figures from the creative arts industry.
In a poignant moment captured on video by GhanaWeb, Empress Gifty was seen overcome with grief as her mother’s remains were carried out of the funeral grounds.
Pallbearers dressed in all-white danced solemnly while carrying the casket, adding a bittersweet touch to the farewell.

Following closely behind, the gospel musician’s cries echoed across the venue, her heartbreak evident as she repeatedly called out for her mother.
Sympathizers nearby attempted to console her, though her pain was palpable.
Agaga, born in 1954, was a beloved actress who graced numerous television commercials. Known for her vibrant personality and candid nature, she left an indelible mark on those who knew her.
The ceremony brought together a host of creative arts personalities, including Diana Asamoah, Joe Mettle, DSP Kofi Sarpong, Kofi Kinaata, and Broda Sammy, who joined the grieving musician to pay their respects.
