The provisional results of the Ejisu by-election, which took place on Tuesday, April 30, have been announced.
Thanks to Graphic Online, we have all the information you need about this election. Six candidates are competing in this by-election, including three independent contenders.
With a total of 106,812 eligible voters, the people are exercising their democratic right to choose their representative in Parliament.
One notable candidate in this race is Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, a former three-term Member of Parliament for the constituency and former Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways. Aduomi is now running as an Independent Candidate.
His decision to run independently against the NPP’s candidate, Kwabena Boateng, could potentially change the dynamics in Parliament. If Aduomi emerges as the winner, it could lead to the NPP becoming a minority in Parliament.
The candidates competing for the vacant seat represent three political parties: the NPP, the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), and the Convention People’s Party (CPP).
In addition, independent candidates Gabriel Agyemang Joseph and Attakorah Joseph are also part of the electoral race, providing voters with a diverse range of options.
