Efia Odo has criticized popular Ghanaian blogger Ameyaw Debrah and several other bloggers for inaccurately asserting that she had a private wedding in 2019, as discussed in a podcast episode of Rants, Bants and Confessions.

In a previous article by GhanaStreetJournal, Efia stated that she married an unnamed man in 2019.

It all started after Lutterodt, when controversial marriage counsellor engaged Efia Odo in a conversation about her past relationships.

During this exchange, Efia disclosed for the first time that she had been married. She shared that her marriage took place in 2019 but ended abruptly two years later.

Efia explained to counsellor Lutterodt, who appeared captivated by her story, that her husband was financially struggling, yet she loved him deeply, hoping he would eventually improve his situation.

Unfortunately, that did not come to pass. She further revealed that her ex-husband compounded her pain by being unfaithful. Feeling heartbroken and disillusioned, she decided to divorce him in 2021.

Counselor Lutterodt expressed his surprise, admitting he was unaware of Efia’s previous marriage. She clarified that many Ghanaians are also unaware, as the wedding was a private event attended only by a select few from both families.

As the report circulated online, Efia Odo took to X to clarify that her comments about getting married were made in jest, emphasizing that a longer version of the video would have provided context.

She further criticized bloggers for their tendency to sensationalize by focusing on snippets of the podcast rather than reviewing the entire episode to accurately understand her statements.

“Lazy bloggers ! So you can’t for once watch the podcast and draw your own conclusions ? All you people know is copy and paste. I’m disappointed in you once again! I said I was JOKING! Eiii”
