During Mahama’s Time My Business Flourished, But Under Akufo Addo It’s Collapsing- Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong has launched a scathing attack on his own party by revealing how Nana Akufo Addo’s incumbency has put a strain on his chains of businesses.

The famous politician, who is eyeing to be the next president of Ghana, expressed his disappointment on Sompa TV, saying that no administration under Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Atta Mills, or John Dramani Mahama has ever targeted his company.

“I was informed that people from the Ghana Revenue Authority had stormed my place to check the number of fish I sell in a day.

“Let me state it clearly that I can’t be threatened. They can not use the system to intimidate because it won’t work. It’s so sad for me to make this statement, when Rawlings was in office I opened businesses, same as president Kufour, Atta Mills and then in Mahama’s era.

I never went through any of these harassments. I am sad, I have to tell you the truth, I have never gone through harassment and intimidation as under Akufo-Addo…this is the frustration am going through to set up businesses for Ghanaians. Business owners can testify to what am saying,” he lamented.

Similarly, the Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong recently said he believes the current administration made errors that contributed to the economic hardship Ghanaians are currently going through.

The repercussions of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine crisis, which are wrecking economies all across the world, were not entirely discounted by him. He further suggested that if elections were held today, it’s likely the NPP would lose.

“I always say that if we had a vote today in the entire world, 80% of the sitting governments would lose because the population cannot take the misery everywhere, making every government unpopular,” he stated.

Also, the unorthodox politician thinks that a number of policies and programs were carried out wrongly, which also added to the problems in the country.

“I’ll also add that, in hindsight, there are some things we did wrong that, in my opinion, would have prevented the current state of the economy.“
