Ras Kuuku has defended President Akufo-Addo’s decision to appoint John Dumelo as Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, dismissing claims that the actor-turned-politician should have been placed in the Creative Arts Ministry instead.
Speaking in an interview with Amansan Krakye on *Property FM*, Ras Kuuku argued that Dumelo’s deep involvement in farming makes him well-suited for the role.
“As for John Dumelo, some people were suggesting that he’ll fit at the Creative Arts Ministry because he’s an actor, but I beg to differ,”* he stated.
According to him, the President must have recognized Dumelo’s agricultural efforts and potential before making the appointment.

“The President who appointed him knows the exact reason why John Dumelo, who is a creative arts person, has been sent to the Agric Ministry,”* he remarked.
Ras Kuuku further emphasized that Dumelo’s active participation in farming likely influenced the President’s choice.
“What the President sees in John Dumelo and has observed over the years might have contributed to the reason why he decided to give him that particular position,”* he noted.
He added that the appointment was not a random decision but a well-thought-out one.
“The President has done a thorough feasibility to have come to such a conclusion, even though John Dumelo is an actor, but recently he’s been actively engaged in farming,”* Ras Kuuku concluded.
