Dr. Dre, the music producer and rapper, is allegedly close to finalizing a deal to sell the rights to some of his earnings and master recordings for more than $200 million.

According to Billboard, the music tycoon is close to selling part of his music holdings in two separate transactions, one with Shamrock Holdings and the other with Universal Music Group.

Dre may sell his artist earnings from two of his solo albums, his part of N.W.A artist royalties, plus his producer royalties and the writer’s portion of tracks where he does not hold publication rights in the Shamrock contract.

According to the terms of the Universal contract, Dre will sell the master recording of his debut solo album, ‘The Chronic,’ as well as his part of certain Kendrick Lamar tracks.

According to Billboard, these deals are primarily “passive revenue sources” worth roughly $10 million per year, and he is not selling his ownership share in his record company, Aftermath.

Insiders also told TMZ that the actual selling price is tens of millions of dollars higher than the $200 million figure Billboard is reporting.

Recently, Dre filed a copyright claim and a video with his song on it to be removed from social media, and subsequently serving a legal letter.

Conservative stalwart, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted a video of her confidently walking around the hallways of Congress listening to Dr. Dre’s song ‘Still D.R.E.’

“It’s time to begin … and they can’t stop what’s coming,” she captions the video.

Greene’s two-minute video opens with an image of the US Capitol, then switches to a sign outside her office proclaiming “There are two genders: Male & Female ‘Trust the Science!’” before she walks out of her office door.

She’s a far-right conspiracy theorist who has served as the U.S. representative for Georgia’s 14th congressional district since 2021.
