Former NPP deputy general secretary Nana Obiri Boahen has urged his fellow Ghanaians to count their blessings for having Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as their vice president. He thinks the Vice President of Ghana is the country’s greatest politician of all time.
In an interview with Accra radio station Neat FM, political commentator Obiri Boahen compared Vice President Bawumia to modern football legends and predicted that Bawumia, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer post, will win Ghana’s presidency in 2024.
“Look at all the great things Dr. Bawumia has done, even though he is only the vice president right now. Just imagine the things he will be able to do as president. He was specially created by God. In football, he is the Haaland of Man City and the Vinicius of Real Madrid. In Ghanaian politics, he is the GOAT (Greatest of All Time). “He will definitely be better than the previous president, Mahama,” Obiri Boahen said.
He urged the public to ignore any attempts to sabotage the vice president’s presidential ambitions on the basis of tribalism and reaffirmed his belief that the vice president is the best person for the NPP’s flagbearer post.
And in a related development, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has recently notified the Majority Caucus of his desire to run as a New Patriotic Party presidential candidate.
Many people expect Dr. Bawumia to replace President Akufo-Addo in 2024, but he will have opposition from three-time candidate Alan Kyeremanteng, who resigned from his position in January to focus on his presidential ambitions.
