DopeNation has expressed readiness to introduce a new music genre called Ghanapiano. The music group made up of identical twins, suggested that this new style will incorporate sampled beats of African origin.

The Ghanaian musicians mentioned this while admitting that they ‘stole’ the beat of legendary music producer Edward Nana Poku Osei, popularly known as Da’Hammer. In an effort to combine old and modern sounds, the duo claims that their most recent song, Check My Zingo, features Hammer’s sound.

They acknowledged that they hadn’t spoken to Da’Hammer about the sound and had “just taken the sample” when asked whether they had. However, they acknowledged that they would be ready to accept any financial or copyright claims resulting from using the sample.

“If there’s a claim, there will be loyalties that will be given to him. DopeNation added that the use of the beats to formulate a new style of African sound called Ghanapiano.

“It actually started with Gboza; there are elements of Da’Hammers sounds in there. What we are trying to do is we are trying to churn a new sound called Ghanapiano,” they said.

DopeNation is a Ghanaian musical duo of identical twin brothers, composed of Micheal Boafo popularly known as B2, and Tony Boafo known as Twist. They are best known for producing hit songs such as Kpuu Kpaa by Shatta Wale, Wow by Joey B ft EL, Sebgefia by Joey B and EL, Poison by Ebony Reigns, Forever by Eazzy ft Mr Eazi, Nana Ama by Pappy Kojo, among others and chunning out hits for themselves as Artists.

Producer and artist E.L in Accra introduced DopeNation to music production in 2012 and developed their skills.[8] Songs by Ghanaian musicians like E.L, Shatta Wale, Joey B, Pappy Kojo, Eazzy, and others have been credited as being produced by them.

Among others are Olamide, Tekno, and Fameye. As Adelaide The Seer’s official producers, they discovered and debuted the sight-impaired singer to the music industry in 2021. She went on to record the tracks “Wire Me” and “What a God” among others.
