DopeNation is a Ghanaian musical duo composed of identical twins, Micheal Boafo, also known as B2, and Tony Boafo, also known as Twist.

The twins were born in Accra and raised in the Accra neighbourhood of Abeka. The twins developed an interest in music during their junior and senior years of schooling in Takoradi. Later, they returned to Accra to pursue advanced degrees at the University of Ghana and Ghana Technology University College.

In 2021, they discovered and introduced Adelaide The Seer to the music scene as her formal producers, subsequently releasing the singles “Wire Me” and “What a God,” among others.

DopeNation released their debut single “Bebia Ye Shi” in 2016, marking their official debut. As a sequel, they released “Uh Huh” in 2017. They released the critically acclaimed self-produced single “Eish” on April 2, 2018.

Their next song, “Naami,” featured Nigerian musician Olamide and disc jockey DJ Enimoney, and it earned them the Sound City MVP Group of the Year in Africa award. The Ghanaian duo released an EP in 2021 titled “Music and Dance.” with Ghanaian dancer Dancegod Llyod in collaboration DWP Academy’s Afrobeast jointly

DopeNation was nominated for the 2017 Ghana Music Honours Award for Music Producer of the Year.

Music Career

Accra-based musician and producer E.L introduced DopeNation to music production in 2012 and fostered their talents.

Dope Nation signed onto Lynx Entertainment in April 2019. Reports says that the group, which was not happy working with the label, refused to renew their contract with Lynx Entertainment following its expiration. They left the label in 2020.

They are credited with producing hit songs such as “Kpuu Kpaa” by Shatta Wale, “Wow” by Joey B featuring EL, “Sebgefia” by Joey B and EL, “Poison” by Ebony Reigns, “Forever” by Eazzy featuring Mr. Eazi, and “Nana Ama” by Pappy Kojo, among others, as well as releasing hit songs under their own names.
