Hitz FM’s DJ Slim has expressed strong disapproval of his colleague, MC Portfolio, after the latter accepted GH¢ 5,000 from dancehall artist Shatta Wale during a recent media tour in Kumasi.
DJ Slim, speaking on his show Street Is Watching on Angel FM, accused Portfolio of hypocrisy, questioning his integrity and loyalty in light of his actions.
“Right on Angel FM, in front of everyone, he openly said that Sammy Flex gives him money,” DJ Slim began, recounting a moment when MC Portfolio discussed financial support from Sammy Flex.
“When he met Shatta, you could see his mixed feelings; he couldn’t articulate himself properly.

He even worked with Shatta during the Kumasi Invasion project, and as a result, Shatta’s bodyguards slapped him heavily,” Slim continued, referencing a prior incident where Portfolio reportedly faced physical altercations while working with Shatta Wale.
DJ Slim’s criticism intensified when he pointed out the contradictions in Portfolio’s recent actions.
According to Slim, Portfolio had previously tweeted on X (formerly Twitter) about aligning himself with Stonebwoy’s camp, making his acceptance of money from Shatta Wale particularly troubling.
“So, after all these things, why would he want to be on the same show with Shatta, especially when he has tweeted on X that he is currently in Stonebwoy’s camp?” DJ Slim asked.
“Once you choose to support Stonebwoy, you should stick with that; you can’t switch sides and support Shatta.
“The situation reflects deeper tensions in Ghana’s entertainment industry, where artists, media personalities, and their supporters often find themselves caught between rival camps.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, two of the country’s biggest dancehall stars, have had a notoriously tumultuous relationship, with their rivalry often spilling into public spaces.

For DJ Slim, MC Portfolio’s actions seemed to betray any sense of consistency or loyalty, undermining the very principles that the entertainment industry values—integrity and allegiance.
DJ Slim also criticized the nature of the payment, suggesting that it was an attempt by Shatta Wale to manipulate or influence media figures.
“You can’t take money from someone who has disrespected you and expect people to take you seriously,” he remarked.
