Ghanaian TV and radio personality, DJ Slim has strongly criticized Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie over his recent comments on social media, accusing him of stirring unnecessary political tension with poorly timed remarks.
The controversy began when Sarkodie made a statement about “gari soakings,” which many interpreted as a veiled commentary on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) crushing defeat in the 2024 elections and their return to opposition.
“If this has a political undertone, Sarkodie, you should bow your head in shame wherever you find yourself.
“You have disappointed us so much,” DJ Slim remarked during hi Street is Watching programme.

His disappointment stems from what he believes is the rapper’s apparent endorsement of partisan politics at a time when the country is grappling with division and economic challenges.
“The post could mean different things,” Slim admitted, “but the timing suggests he has publicly declared himself as a member of the New Patriotic Party.
“I think this is the wrong statement for him based on the time.”
Sarkodie’s social media post, which many have described as cryptic but politically charged, has reignited debates about the intersection of celebrity influence and politics in Ghana.
