DJ Azonto, now known as Ice Boss, has announced through his management team that they are considering legal action against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for utilizing his popular track ‘Fa No Fom’ without permission.

His management group, Rolls Royce Family, released a statement on social media to clarify their position regarding this issue.

They emphasized that if the NDC does not provide compensation of $100 million for copyright violation, they will escalate the situation to the courts.

Furthermore, DJ Azonto’s management indicated that beyond the monetary compensation, the artist seeks recognition alongside his family members by being featured on Ghana cedi notes should the NDC secure victory in the upcoming December 2024 general elections.

The statement read;

“The Rolls Royce Family, management of DJ Azonto, wishes to officially address the recent developments regarding the use of DJ Azonto’s hit song “Fa No Fom” during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign.

“Currently known as Ice Boss, DJ Azonto’s chart-topping single, which has captured the hearts of millions, was played at an NDC rally without prior authorization from the artist or his management.

“In light of this, Ice Boss, through his management, is seeking a compensation of $100 million from the NDC for the use of his intellectual property. In addition to this monetary demand, Ice Boss has made a distinctive request.

“Should the NDC ascend to power in the upcoming elections, he wishes to be honored by being featured on Ghana’s Cedi note.

“This feature will not only include Ice Boss himself but will also showcase his mother, wife, and three children as the new Big Six, symbolizing family, cultural pride, and national recognition.

“Management awaits a formal response from the NDC regarding these demands. Sammy Anim Public Relations Officer Rolls Royce Family
