Jared Bush has been officially named the new Chief Creative Officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios, marking a significant moment in his career.

In a heartfelt statement, Bush expressed his gratitude to Disney’s leadership, including Bob Iger and Alan Bergman, for trusting him with such a pivotal role.

He also extended his thanks to Jennifer Lee, his predecessor, for her support and leadership as she embarks on the next exciting chapters of the Frozen franchise.

“I am so deeply grateful to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman for their faith in me,” Bush shared.

“And thankful to Jennifer for her leadership and her generous support as she turns her focus to expanding Frozen.

“Disney Animation is home to some of the greatest stories and characters of the past century, and I’m incredibly excited to work with our filmmakers, artists, and the entire Disney Animation team to shape the future of this legendary studio together.”

Jennifer Lee, who has been a creative powerhouse at Disney Animation, is stepping down from her executive role to concentrate on her passion for filmmaking, particularly continuing the beloved Frozen story.

“I am so grateful to Bob and Alan for supporting my decision to return to filmmaking full-time,” she shared.

“Every day working with them has been a master class in creativity, business, and community. I’ve always believed in Jared’s incredible talent, and I can’t wait to see what he brings to the CCO role with his passion and dedication to animation.

“For me, working with the studio’s artists, animators, and storytellers is a privilege, and I look forward to all we will create together.”

Alan Bergman, the co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, echoed their sentiments, praising both Bush and Lee for their contributions to the studio.

“Jared Bush is an incredible filmmaker and a talented executive who has been a prominent creative force at Disney Animation for the past decade,” Bergman said.

“I’m thrilled he’s taking the reins of this storied studio. I also want to thank Jennifer Lee for her passionate leadership.

“She’s made an indelible mark on both Disney Animation and the industry, and there is no one better suited to oversee the continuation of Frozen’s beloved story.”

With Bush leading the way and Lee focusing on her new creative pursuits, Disney Animation is poised for an exciting future, with fresh stories and unforgettable characters waiting to be brought to life.
