In a move that has stirred conversation online, former musician and actress Diamond Appiah has thrown her support behind former President John Dramani Mahama ahead of Ghana’s December elections.

Diamond took to social media to share her thoughts on the current state of the economy, making a direct comparison between the exchange rate during Mahama’s time in office and the present rate under the NPP government.

In her video, Diamond didn’t shy away from showcasing her luxurious lifestyle, providing glimpses of her sprawling mansion and custom-designed pool.

But amid the glamour, she kept her message clear, stating her belief that Mahama’s leadership would be beneficial for Ghana in light of the current economic challenges.

This post, however, quickly attracted a range of responses. While some viewers appreciated her perspective, others questioned her motives, suggesting that her financial situation might have influenced her decision to campaign for Mahama.

One viewer commented, “Is she only supporting Mahama because things aren’t going well for her personally?”

Others noted her close friendship with social media personality Afia Schwarzenegger, who has publicly endorsed Dr Bawumia, the NPP’s candidate.

“Why didn’t she join her best friend in campaigning for Bawumia?” some followers asked, drawing a comparison between the two friends’ political endorsements.
