Veteran Nigerian actor and politician Desmond Elliot has finally addressed the swirling rumours regarding his sexuality that gained momentum in recent weeks.

The gossip began when the controversial blog Gistlover published a list alleging that several high-profile Nigerian celebrities and politicians, including Elliot, were secretly involved in homosexuality.

The blog not only named individuals but also claimed to have compelling evidence and witnesses to support these allegations, igniting a firestorm across social media.

The revelation shocked fans and led to an intense backlash, with many of the individuals named vehemently defending their reputations.

Throughout this uproar, however, Desmond Elliot maintained a notably calm demeanour, seemingly unfazed by the chaos surrounding him.

In a recent candid interview with TVC News at an outdoor event, Elliot was finally prompted to share his thoughts on the matter.

When questioned about his delayed response to the rumours, he articulated a perspective that was both composed and strategic. He asserted that he found no merit in dignifying “baseless rumours” with a public rebuttal, stating firmly, “I am not gay.”
