Soccer legend David Beckham has said that before he married his wife, Victoria Beckham, he had already envisioned a future together with her.
David, 49, recently shared that Victoria, 50, embodied his ideal partner even before they officially met.
Their enduring relationship, which will reach the milestone of 25 years on Thursday (4 July), was destined from the start.
The couple’s paths crossed for the first time in 1997 at a charity football event in the Manchester United players’ lounge, with Victoria at 22 and David at 21. They tied the knot two years later.
“I always said that once I met Victoria, I would always be with her,” he told The Sun.
“A couple of months before we met I was abroad with the England team,” he began.
“Gary Neville and I were in the hotel room and a Spice Girls video came on. I think it was ‘Say You’ll Be There’. I pointed at the screen and told him, ‘That’s the girl for me and I’m going to get her.’”
The band’s initial single achieved the top spot on the UK singles chart, marking the beginning of their ongoing success.
In the video, Victoria, also known as Posh Spice, sported a black PVC catsuit during her singing career.

At that time, David had not yet attained international stardom and was not part of England’s first team, while Victoria enjoyed greater fame.
The Beckhams stars, who share four children, have previously described how a smitten David would travel hours to spend 20 minutes with Victoria when they started dating.
“It was her eyes, her face. She’s my idea of perfection,” he said.
And it appears that the feeling was mutual as Victoria shared a similar experience.
“I fancied David long before we met,” she said. “I remember doing an interview for a soccer magazine and they showed me photos of different footballers. I had no idea who he was, but I just remember thinking one word: Gorgeous.”
