Corazon Kwamboka Reflects on the Challenges of Leaving a Partner with Kids

Kenyan brand influencer and lawyer Corazon Kwamboka has opened up about the complexities of navigating a breakup with someone with whom you share children.

In a conversation with Oga Obinna on October 7, she addressed the emotional toll that separation can take, especially when little ones are involved.

For many, the idea of splitting from a partner can feel like closing a chapter, but for Corazon, it’s much more layered. “Leaving someone you have kids with is not as simple as it seems,” she remarked, reflecting on the emotional and practical challenges that come with co-parenting.

In her case, Corazon has found a way to maintain a solid friendship with her ex, fitness trainer Frankie JustGymIt. Their bond may have transformed, but the foundation of mutual respect and shared interests—particularly their love for fitness—remains strong.

“We are very good friends. Franky can always count on me, and I can count on him,” she shared. It’s a sentiment that resonates with many parents who find themselves navigating the tricky waters of co-parenting post-separation. It’s heartwarming to see how Corazon and Frankie prioritize their children while also fostering a friendship that supports their new dynamic as co-parents.

However, it’s not all smooth sailing. Corazon has faced her fair share of criticism, particularly during her relationship with Frankie. She bravely addressed the online trolling that labeled her as a “homewrecker,” defending her character with grace.

“Franky’s previous relationship had already ended before we met,” she clarified, dispelling the harsh allegations that followed her. It’s a powerful reminder of how easily narratives can be twisted in the age of social media, often with little regard for the truth.

Reflecting on her journey through this scrutiny, Corazon acknowledged the initial sting of negativity. Yet, she has grown resilient, learning to focus on the positive aspects of her life and career. “At this point, I don’t let negative comments get to me. I just focus on the positive ones and ignore the rest,” she stated with a sense of empowerment.

Her experience is a testament to the strength that comes from vulnerability. By sharing her story, Corazon not only offers insight into her life but also encourages others who may find themselves in similar situations.

It’s a reminder that even in the face of adversity and judgment, it’s possible to rise above and focus on what truly matters—family, friendship, and self-acceptance.
