President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, has urged Ghanaians to make sacrifices that will build a “happy and progressive country.”
In extending his felicitations of the Christmas season as Christians celebrate the birth of Christ, he said;
“On behalf of government, my wife Rebecca, daughters, grandchildren, my entire family, I send warm greetings and best wishes for the season to all Ghanaians.”
The President urged Ghanaians to be hopeful that things will get better.
“Let’s be prepared to make the sacrifices that will enable us to build a happy progressive Ghana we all desire.”
He urged those who are fortunate to use the season to spread love.
“If you are in a more fortune position, remember to lend a helping hand to those who are in need.”
“Let us do our best to help feed those who are hungry and offer comfort to those in distress.”
“Let’s provide the famous Ghanaian hospitality to the thousands and thousands of people who are visiting us this Christmas.”
According to him, this hospitality is necessary because Ghana has “become an important global destination for the Christmas holiday.”
“Let’s take time to gather, love, listen and learn from each other and remember that with the help of God, we can overcome every challenge and achieve every future of which we can dream.”
