Cheddar Donates GH¢50,000 to Support Kantamanto Market Fire Victims

Leader of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, has stepped forward to show solidarity with the victims of the devastating fire at Kantamanto Market.

On January 3, 2025, Cheddar visited the disaster site, where he witnessed firsthand the destruction caused by the fire that left many traders devastated.

During his visit, Cheddar expressed his commitment to helping the affected traders rebuild their businesses and restore the market.

“What I have started is to raise funds for them. I came here with GH¢50,000 as a token, and we will work together to rebuild the market,” he said.

In a heartfelt plea to Ghanaians, Cheddar appealed for collective action to assist the victims. “Ghanaians, I plead with you, whatever you have, bring it and let’s support the traders who were affected by the fire,” he added.

His call for unity in the face of adversity resonated with many who were touched by the visible impact of the disaster.

The Kantamanto Market fire has caused widespread damage, particularly affecting small traders who rely on their businesses for daily survival.

Cheddar’s Notable Political Performance in 2024 Election

Cheddar emerged as the leading candidate amongst other small political parties during the 2024 general elections.

Running under the banner of the New Force Movement, Cheddar emerged as a standout contender among smaller-party candidates.

On December 9, 2024, the Electoral Commission (EC) officially announced the results, revealing that Cheddar had garnered 84,478 votes, which accounted for 0.75% of the total votes cast.
