Charles Bissue Calls Professor Frimpong Boateng A Liar Over 500 Missing Excavators

Charles Bissue says Professor Frimpong Boateng is hiding the truth to protect his reputation in the illegal mining (galamsey) scandal.

Allegations that 500 seized excavators disappeared during the former minister’s time as minister have been recently denied by him. Prof. Frimpong Boateng claims that the accusations made against him in order to have him removed from his position under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government were completely false and fabricated.

In an exclusive interview with GBC News on March 10, 2023, he revealed how members of his own political party were sabotaging him internally, including those at the Jubilee House who were still engaged in galamsey.

“No 500 excavators went messing, it was somebody who threw that into the media space to tag something of Frimpong Boateng. What am I doing with 500 excavators?”

However, Charles Bissue disputed Professor Frimpong Boateng’s allegation, labeling him a liar and claiming that he participated in illegal mining while working for the government.

“When the issue of galamsey came up, stepped aside to allow for investigations, because I didn’t want to interfere in the affairs of the said investigations. But for the excavators…the day that prof. Frimpong Boateng went to do that interview claiming that 500 excavators has gone missing, I wasn’t in the country so I called him.

“And told him that the national security council, Hajia Alima Mahama and Hon. Dapaah inspected the excavators before they brought them to Accra, so the numbers were recorded.
