Celine Dion and her management team have issued a statement condemning the unauthorized use of her song at a rally for Trump and Vance.
Dion shared this statement on X, previously known as Twitter, clarifying that the performance of “My Heart Will Go On” during the Montana rally on Friday was not permitted.
The song “My Heart Will Go On” is famously known as the theme for James Cameron’s 1997 film “Titanic.”
“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing “My Heart Will Go On” at a Donald Trump/ JD Vance campaign rally in Montana. In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. …And really, THAT song?”
Many social media users highlighted the irony of Trump using the song at his rally, noting its association with a sinking ship and questioning the viability of his campaign moving forward.
Recent polls indicate that Trump has fallen behind Kamala Harris in crucial battleground states, particularly since she emerged as the leading Democratic presidential candidate in recent weeks.
