Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes has reportedly found himself on the wrong side of the law, turning himself in after an alleged altercation with his personal assistant.
The incident, which occurred on January 10, is now the talk of Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighbourhood, where the drama unfolded.
According to reports from The New York Post, the heated exchange began when 50-year-old Dashiel Gables, Busta’s assistant, was caught using his phone during work hours.
The disagreement quickly spiralled, with Busta allegedly landing several punches on Gables, leaving him with a visibly swollen left eye.

The clash reportedly took place in the lobby of Gables’ apartment building. While Busta left the scene immediately after the alleged incident, Gables contacted emergency services and sought medical attention for his injuries.
By January 14, the rapper voluntarily surrendered to the NYPD and was issued a desk appearance ticket (DAT) for misdemeanour assault, attempted assault, and harassment. Busta Rhymes is expected to appear in court on February 2 to address the charges.
When approached by The New York Post, Gables remained tight-lipped, citing advice from his attorney to refrain from speaking publicly about the matter.
