Gospel musician Broda Sammy, known for his unique and sometimes controversial approach to gospel music, recently took to Facebook to share a new song he composed for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections.

While the song was meant to show support for the candidate, Broda Sammy made sure to address potential critics right from the start, saying, “Please don’t insult me o, because it’s money and it’s my work.”

The musician, who has never been one to shy away from bold moves, is known for his lively personality and his ability to blend gospel music with contemporary themes.

However, this time, his song, which was composed to rally support for Dr. Bawumia, appears to have struck a chord with many people—both positive and negative.

By prefacing his post with a plea not to be insulted, Broda Sammy was likely responding to the sensitive nature of politics in Ghana, where public figures supporting political parties often receive heavy scrutiny or backlash from the public.

“It’s money and it’s my work,” he added, explaining that his involvement in composing the song was also part of his career as a musician, a remark that is buzzing entertainment news in Ghana.

Many artists face criticism for supporting political figures, with fans sometimes feeling disappointed or divided based on their personal beliefs.

But Broda Sammy is not one to shy away from taking a stand, even if it means braving criticism. For him, this is not just about politics; it’s about using his platform and his talent to make a living, like many others in the industry.

As Ghana approaches the 2024 elections, the atmosphere is heating up, and the involvement of popular figures like Broda Sammy adds an interesting twist to the political landscape.

Whether or not people agree with his choice to compose the song for Dr. Bawumia, Broda Sammy’s message was clear: it’s just business. For him, making music for a political campaign is simply part of his job, and he doesn’t want it to become a source of unnecessary controversy.

The post has since sparked discussions across social media, with some fans supporting his decision and others questioning his political involvement.

But, as always, Broda Sammy stays true to his character—bold, unapologetic, and focused on his craft. Whether you love him or disagree with him, one thing is certain: Broda Sammy will always march to the beat of his own drum.
