Blame ECG, Not Akufo-Addo For Dumsor- Kumawood Actor

Kumawood actor, Frank Naro has urged Ghanaians to hold the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) responsible for the ongoing power outages, rather than blaming the government under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership.

Naro, who has ventured into music and released some successful songs, pointed out that many Ghanaians are already facing challenges in the country, exacerbated by the effects of ‘Dumsor’.

This statement was made during an interview on Property FM located in Cape Coast.

“These light outs aren’t helpful at all and so those in the helm of affairs at ECG should work hard because this is not about the government and so those at ECG must be up and doing.

We know that they’ve been doing their best over the years but they should work extra because a lot of things are getting destroyed since we use light to do almost everything nowadays.

Imagine that despite the hardship in the country someone gets money to buy prepaid on their meter to work with but doesn’t even get the light to make money and offset their costs.

So it’s really causing havoc with these current power rationing so we plead with them to do more for us to get stable electricity for the entire country,” he told Amansan Krakye.

Meanwhile, Nana Akufo-Addo, has provided reassurance to the Ghanaians that the dumsor crisis is currently being addressed.

This announcement was made during his speech at the annual May Day celebration.

In his address, the President conveyed his confidence that the inconsistent power supply problems have been effectively resolved, attributing the success to the resolution of transformer and gas supply issues.

“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians for their patience and understanding during the recent temporary challenges with electricity supply across the country,” stated President Akufo-Addo.

“Over the period, the issues surrounding transformers and gas supply have been successfully resolved resulting in sufficient improvement in power supply reliability”.
