Blakk Rasta is facing backlash following remarks he made regarding Dr Daniel McKorley, the Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group of Companies, which have upset the chiefs and residents of the Ga States.
The reggae artist and radio host was urged to promptly retract his statements and issue an apology for the gross misinformation and baseless claims he presented about McDan during his broadcast on 3FM.
A statement issued by Numo Kofi Okassa Diaka II, Wolomo of Ga Asere Traditional Area, along with support from other notable figures such as Numo Abbey Okanfrane Wulomo of Ga Abbetse We, Numo Naa Koloo Wolomo of La, and Numo Dede of Dede We, Teshie, called for an immediate retraction and public apology from Blakk Rasta.
The chiefs cautioned that noncompliance would result in significant repercussions “as nature demands.”
“We, the leaders of the Gadangme land, are compelled to address the gross misinformation disseminated by Blakk Rasta to the public. His false claim that Dr. Daniel McKorley is paralysed due to omens and curses invoked by the Chiefs of Ada is entirely unfounded and unacceptable,” the statement read.
The traditional leaders also refuted any suggestion that the Chiefs of Ada had celebrated Dr. McKorley’s alleged condition, dismissing such claims as motivated by “self-interest and malicious intent.”
They emphasised that such false information is not only harmful but also divisive.
Alongside their request for an apology, the leaders reiterated their backing for Dr. McKorley, characterizing him as a “respected CEO and esteemed member of the community.”
They further urged state security agencies to pay attention to Blakk Rasta’s comments, particularly in light of the forthcoming elections, and called for the preservation of peace and stability in the area.
