Blakk Rasta showcased his vocal prowess on the Urban Blend show at 3FM as he discussed a report about the New Ghana Social Justice Forum petitioning the French National Olympic and Sports Committee to prevent Sarkodie from performing at the Africa Fan Zone.
He commended the group for their actions, suggesting that if Sarkodie is indeed removed from the lineup of performers for the upcoming concert, it could serve as a lesson to other celebrities who engage in inappropriate behaviour.
The radio host and musician stressed the importance of celebrities setting a good example for their fans, highlighting the significant impact their actions and words can have on society.
Blakk Rasta criticized Sarkodie’s reaction to the petition, labelling it arrogant and disrespectful.

“We need some of these measures to be able to make some of our so-called celebrities responsible. This will teach a lot of us to be very careful how we speak. Sarkodie exhibited a lot of arrogance and when I speak like this then people will send me messages asking if I have a problem with Sarkodie,” he stated.
He also addressed Sarkodie’s recent conflict with actress Yvonne Nelson, who claimed in her memoir that the rapper forced her to have an abortion.
“You didn’t care and when she finally put it out in a book, you have the arrogance, the tenacity to release a certain trash song called ‘Try Me’ calling her a call girl, a street girl,” he said.
“This group should have done this earlier. We need to check some of these things or else at the end of the day, we would only be degrading ourselves and each other. Let Sarkodie face the music. Let other artistes who have gone down that line also go through it. Nobody is bigger than the truth,” he said.
Background
According to the group, Sarkodie’s alleged derogatory remarks about women, which they view as indicative of misogyny.
Citing instances such as his disrespectful references to Yvonne Nelson in the song ‘Try Me’ and Krobo women in the track ‘Jennifer Lomotey’ with Kurl Songx, the group argues that Sarkodie’s history of disrespect towards women disqualifies him from participating in the Africa Fan Zone event scheduled for August 9, 2024, at the Stade Robert Cesar in France.
“Honouring Sarkodie with the stage at Africa Fan Zone raises concerns, particularly for women. Sarkodie’s past actions, such as labelling actress Yvonne Nelson a prostitute who belongs to the streets in response to her memoir ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,’ are troubling,” 3News quoted the group as saying.
