Black Sherif’s remarkable career has taken a significant leap forward following an announcement from Bloomplay that revealed that he is the first Ghanaian artist to achieve 500 million streams on their platform.

This milestone was celebrated in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Boomplay, highlighting his groundbreaking achievement.

Boomplay announced this historic accomplishment in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), with the caption, “KILOS MILLIONS! Special congratulations to Iron Boy the pace setter @blacksherif_ and fans for hitting a record of 500 million total streams on #Boomplay.”

A proud Black Sherif who came across the post expressed his gratitude to his fans in Ghana and globally for their support in making this new achievement a reality.

“This is a dream come true. I am beyond grateful for the love and support from my fans, both in Ghana and around the world. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to share more music with you all,” he said.

Boomplay is a streaming service that was introduced in 2015 in Nigeria by TECNO Mobile, a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings.

Available on both an app and a website, Boomplay offers access to an extensive library of African and international music, featuring over 85 million songs and 7.5 million artists, and boasts more than 75 million monthly active users.

GhanastreetJournal previously reported that Black Sherif’s reputation reached new heights when the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) included a section about him, prompting students to write brief notes about his background and contributions.

This solidified his status alongside esteemed figures such as Agya Koo Nimo and Ephraim Amu in the Creative Arts portion of the exam.

Students were asked to demonstrate their knowledge of his hometown, genre of work, a specific example of his works, and his impact on society.

In perspective, Question 5 (c) of section B of the examination reads: “Write short notes on any of the following composers; focusing on his hometown, genre of work, one example of his works and contribution to society.
