Bishop T.D. Jakes, the renowned pastor and motivational speaker, is stable and recovering after experiencing a medical emergency during his sermon on Sunday.
The incident took place at the Potter’s House of Dallas, where Jakes has led the congregation as senior pastor for over two decades.
The Sunday service began as usual with Bishop Jakes delivering his impactful message, known for his dynamic delivery and spiritual depth.
However, things took an unexpected turn when, midway through his sermon, he was seen lowering his microphone and visibly shaking in his seat.
A few moments later, people around him rushed to offer assistance, with some church members visibly concerned.
“We were all in shock when we saw it happening,” said one member of the congregation. “Bishop Jakes has always been so strong and energetic, so to see him in that moment was really unsettling. But thankfully, the medical team was there quickly.”
According to a statement from the church, the bishop “experienced a slight health incident” during the service and was immediately attended to by medical professionals. Despite the scare, the church assured the community that Bishop Jakes is now stable and receiving care.
The statement went on to reassure the congregation, saying, “Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. We are thankful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community.”
The church also confirmed that despite the medical emergency, Jakes had delivered a powerful hour-long message earlier in the service, known for his usual emotional depth and clarity.
“It was a powerful word, and God’s spirit was clearly moving,” said another attendee. “It was just a shock to see that happen in the middle of it.”
Bishop Jakes, who has a massive global following, is widely regarded for his ability to inspire and motivate, not only through his preaching but also through his extensive work in personal development and leadership.
