According to police prosecutors, the teenager was driving a Jaguar F-Pace Sport—a luxury vehicle belonging to his parents—when the tragedy struck.
He reportedly showed off the car’s speed, leading a convoy of three vehicles. Witness accounts revealed that the journey began at A&C Mall, where he and a friend joined others in SUVs.
The Jaguar, driven by the accused, led the convoy through the streets of East Legon. In a split second, the joyride turned fatal when the car collided with a black Acura carrying the two young victims.
Initially held at the Osu Correctional Centre during his trial, the teenager maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to all charges.
However, the weight of evidence eventually led him to admit his role in the accident, a decision that paved the way for his sentencing.
