Beyoncé has made music history by becoming the first black woman to reach the pinnacle of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with her track “Texas Hold ‘Em.”
The groundbreaking achievement occurred as Beyoncé surprised fans with the release of “Texas Hold ‘Em” alongside another single, “16 Carriages,” during a surprise album drop at the Super Bowl.

Not only did “Texas Hold ‘Em” skyrocket to the number one spot, but it also propelled Beyoncé into the elite ranks of solo female artists who have achieved a straight entry at the top of the charts. Taylor Swift previously accomplished this feat in 2021 with her re-recordings of “Love Story” and “All Too Well.”
Beyoncé’s ascension to the top of the Hot Country Songs chart marks a historic moment, making her the first woman to claim the number one position on both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since their inception in 1958. She joins a select group of artists including Ray Charles, Billy Ray Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Morgan Wallen in achieving this dual chart-topping status.
The announcement of Beyoncé’s chart-topping success, revealed on Tuesday, reflects data from the week leading up to February 15.

Remarkably, “Texas Hold ‘Em” secured the number-one position after just four days of tracking, garnering 39,000 downloads and 19.2 million streams in the United States.
Both “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” are slated to appear on Beyoncé’s highly anticipated ninth studio album, “Renaissance Act II,” scheduled for release on March 29.
