Nigerian musician Spyro has taken to social media to share an emotional tribute to Captain Tunde Demuren, expressing gratitude for Demuren’s unwavering support during the hardest times of his career.
Spyro revealed how Demuren, a Nigerian airline pilot and husband to media personality Tolu “Toolz” Oniru, played a crucial role in his journey to fame, calling him a “solid rock” who stood by him when he almost gave up on his dreams.

Spyro detailed how he met Demuren through a mutual friend, Gabriel Ojini, at a critical juncture when his career was struggling to gain traction. He described his situation as a “quarter to giving up” due to financial and professional challenges.
At that moment, Demuren’s support came as a lifeline. Though Spyro wasn’t signed to Demuren’s record label, Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), he recalls Demuren going above and beyond to help him.
Demuren paid for Spyro’s music video, arranged for his song to be mixed, and worked to get it aired on multiple stations. Beyond the logistics, Demuren offered him consistent financial support that Spyro refers to as “hope” during those uncertain times.
What struck Spyro the most was Demuren’s generosity even beyond the music industry. Before Spyro’s hit single “Who Is Your Guy?” took off, Demuren supported his venture into the real estate industry by offering him an entire building to use for his short-let business.

Demuren also covered the startup costs, showing belief in Spyro’s entrepreneurial potential. But when Spyro’s single started to gain momentum, Demuren encouraged him to set the business aside and focus on building his music career. “Go be a superstar,” he advised.
