‘African Money’ hitmaker, Barima Sidney, has hinted at releasing another socio-political song which focuses on power and how people abuse it.

The politically conscious musician whose songs largely focuses on happenings around his environment, told Tru Voices in an exclusive interview that the track, titled ‘Power’ would be released in the year 2023.

The ‘Obiaa ny3 obiaa’ hitmaker revealed that he had been working on the song for some years now.

“Right after the ‘African Money’ song, I have been working on this song called power. After corruption, the next big thing to be was power…how people misuse power.”

“Like I said, power itself is not bad, but then how you use it. So, I have been working on this song for all these years…In fact, it’s done. My target is to release in 2023 Christ willing, so that’s my new project I am working on, shooting the video.”

Just like his ‘African Money’ song on corruption that penetrated both francophone and anglophone countries on the African continent, the 45-year-old hiplife/afrobeat singer expects the new song ‘Power’ to cross the borders of Ghana.

He said “It’s not really about Ghana, it’s a song that we would love it to cut across Africa; the way people are misusing power, abusing power and all that.”

Barima Sidney, real name Sidney Kofi Ofori, is also known as ‘Rap Ninja. His music career kicked off in 1994, and he was the lead member of the defunct Nananom music trio.

The group released back-to-back hit songs until he went solo in the 2000s. As a solo artiste, Barima Sydney has released many hit songs such ‘African Money’, Obiaa Nye Obiaa’ among others.
