As a Man of God, I Led Ampong to Make Things Right with Daddy Lumba – Archbishop Boateng

In a world where misunderstandings often fester and deepen, Archbishop Kofi Adonten Boateng has emerged as a peacemaker, emphasizing the importance of reconciliation and humility within the Christian faith.

Recently, the archbishop shared how he intervened in a public feud between iconic highlife musician Daddy Lumba and gospel artist Great Ampong, offering insight into his approach to resolving conflict.

The rift between the two musicians became a matter of public discussion after Great Ampong openly criticized Daddy Lumba, accusing him of certain grievances.

Ampong’s remarks sparked tension, casting a shadow over what had once been a respectful relationship between the two artists.

Recognizing the damage that this public spat could cause, especially within the Christian community, Archbishop Boateng stepped in to mediate and guide Ampong toward reconciliation.

“If I want Ampong to be lifted spiritually in the realms of the spirit, I will have to lead him to cleanse himself. Ampong spoke against the legendary musician Daddy Lumba,” Archbishop Boateng explained, emphasizing that spiritual growth and personal integrity are intertwined.

For the archbishop, resolving disputes is not just about fixing the surface issue—it’s about addressing the deeper spiritual impact.

As a man of God, Archbishop Boateng understands that spiritual guidance comes with a responsibility to encourage right actions. He stressed the importance of humility and the Christian principle of forgiveness, urging Great Ampong to seek reconciliation by offering an apology to Daddy Lumba.

“So as a man of God, if I am to ordain Great Ampong and I don’t lead him to do the right thing by apologizing to the musician, it’s not right. This is what Christianity is about,” he said, highlighting how true faith is demonstrated through love, repentance, and forgiveness.

The feud between the musicians was not just a personal dispute but one that drew the attention of fans and the media. Archbishop Boateng’s intervention was timely, showing that leaders in the faith community can play a crucial role in mending broken relationships. In this instance, his focus was not only on the reputations of Daddy Lumba and Ampong but on ensuring that Ampong’s spiritual journey remained intact.

Christianity, as Archbishop Boateng emphasizes, teaches the importance of reconciliation and making amends when wrongs are committed. Apologizing is not a sign of weakness, but rather, a demonstration of strength and commitment to living according to the teachings of Christ.

For him, bringing peace between Daddy Lumba and Great Ampong was a necessary step to help both parties move forward, especially Ampong, whose spiritual growth was at stake.

“I have seen how feuds can tear people apart, and it’s important that we do what is necessary to restore peace. For Ampong, it was essential to seek forgiveness and clear his conscience so that he could continue to grow in his faith,” Archbishop Boateng added.
