In a recent interview with Angel FM on January 11, 2025, Ghanaian musician Article Wan reflected on a past conflict with Kuami Eugene that stirred significant tension in the music industry.
According to Article Wan, the beef started when Kuami Eugene made negative comments about Patapaa in an interview with GHOne.
Patapaa, who felt disrespected, forwarded the video to Article Wan, who tried to calm the situation. However, when Kuami Eugene’s comments included his name, Article Wan’s frustration boiled over.
“I was initially calm, but when my name came into the interview, I got angry,” Article Wan explained. “I felt very disrespected based on what Kuami Eugene said. My team and I retaliated, and things just escalated.”

The fallout from the incident led to Richie Mensah, the CEO of Lynx Entertainment, reaching out to Article Wan. Richie, who has worked closely with Kuami Eugene, called to offer an apology on his behalf.
“Richie Mensah called me one day and apologised for what Kuami Eugene said. He even asked me to pull my tweets down,” Article Wan recalled.
Despite the apology, Article Wan was reluctant to let go of his anger, especially given the different circumstances surrounding the two artists. “I felt Kuami Eugene had the support of a record label behind him, while I was out here doing everything on my own. So, I didn’t listen to Richie,” he admitted.
However, after some time, Article Wan eventually decided to pull the tweets down, although he still carries some regret about not listening to Richie sooner.
“Sometimes I feel very bad because Richie Mensah called me, and I didn’t listen to him,” he said, reflecting on the situation. “We didn’t have ample time to discuss such matters, but I know Richie likes me. He likes artistes who can create their beats.”
