Alan Kyerematen’s Exit Could Harm NPP- Kennedy Agyapong Admits

During an interview on Starr Chat with Bola Ray, Kennedy Agyapong expressed his concerns regarding the departure of Alan Kyeremateng from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Despite certain members and supporters of the party dismissing Kyeremateng’s departure, Mr Agyapong believes that his absence could have a detrimental impact on the party.

Agyapong, who is a potential flagbearer for the NPP, stated that Kyeremateng could pose a significant challenge to the party in the upcoming 2024 general election.

Agyapong also highlighted the electoral success of non-politician Osofo Kyiri Abosum, who secured three percent of the votes in the previous general election. Based on this, Agyapong predicted that Kyeremateng could potentially garner 10 to 15 percent of the votes in the 2024 general election.

“Anybody who thinks Alan Kyerematen’s exit will not pose a challenge to the NPP, the person is not a good politician. You can call his bluff but when the time comes you will see what will happen.

“In Ashanti region, they are just deceiving themselves, when they see Bawumia here, Mahama here, and Alan here, Alan will sweep the votes.  When you look at Alan’s personality, people love him the way he is,” Mr. Agyapong stated.

He predicted that Alan Kyerematen could get 10 to 15 percent of votes in the 2024 general election.

“Because I am a grassroots man, Alan going independent is a big problem to us. I am telling you. I will speak the truth and nothing else. Anybody who says Alan is not relevant in the NPP so he should go means that person doesn’t like the party,” the Assin Central MP stated.
