President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has recently decided to dismiss a total of twenty-four (24) Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
This action was taken by Article 243(3) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(3) (b) of the Local Government Act, 2014, Act (936).
The President’s official correspondence, dated February 2, 2023, confirmed the immediate implementation of these dismissals, with plans underway to announce the appointment of their successors.
