Akon has weighed in on the ongoing rivalry between Davido and Wizkid during an interview with content creator Issraissry.
When asked to choose his favourite artist between the two, Akon jokingly selected Davido, referring to him as “the ultimate shouter.”
Despite acknowledging that his choice might lead to controversy, Akon humorously stated, “I might get in trouble for mentioning anything about Davido. But I’m going to stick with Davido.”
Having collaborated with both Wizkid and Davido in the past, Akon had previously attempted to sign the duo to his music label, Konvict Music.
As expected, this revelation sparked a wave of reactions from fans in Nigeria, reigniting the ongoing debate surrounding the impact of these two artists on the Afrobeat genre.
