Head of Corporate Communication at Ghana Gas and NPP Deputy National Communications Officer, Ernest Owusu Bempah, has disclosed the pivotal role he played in unveiling the Airbus scandal, a move he described as a calculated political strategy to shift focus from Ghana’s struggling economy.
Speaking candidly in an interview with Vim Lady, Owusu Bempah shared his thought process behind the revelation.
“Somebody like me, I get up in the morning, adopt a strategy to save a whole political party from a whole mess.
“When the economy is bashing the whole government, I am saying this on record—the economy Ghanaians were saying they were hungry, no one was listening to what we were saying,” he explained.
He detailed how his actions stemmed from the need to divert public discourse. “I went to bring the Airbus scandal, strategically.

“I was in my room, and I brought the Airbus scandal. I am just trying to tell you that strategy is very key in politics. Then the whole NDC machinery is after me,” he said.
Owusu Bempah expressed his belief that his actions have positioned him as a central figure in political discussions, stating that his influence and strategic moves often put him in the spotlight.
“Only one person—do you think, why do you think they are always thinking about me? As a political party, you need to be strategic.
“If you think bantering Sammy Gyamfi on the radio and TV will win you an election, you will be making a terrible mistake,” he added.
