Ghanaian media personality Genevieve Abrefa Yeboah, known as Oheneni Adazoa, has opened up about the unexpected impact of sharing her personal struggles with infertility.
Following her interview on The Delay Show, where she revealed she had been married for 20 years without a child, she has since become a source of hope for many women facing similar challenges.
“That interview with Delay opened a big platform for me,” she said. “After the interview, a prophetess called and told me that God will open a bigger platform for me because I was brave enough to share my story.”
True to the prophecy, her story resonated with many. Delay later informed her that several women had reached out, seeking guidance and support. Inspired by this, Adazoa took action.

“She suggested I create a WhatsApp group for them, and I did just that,” she explained. “I occasionally invited doctors to the platform to offer advice, and we also prayed together for an hour almost every day. By the special grace of God, 16 out of 540 women have been able to give birth.”
Infertility remains a deeply sensitive issue in many African societies, often subjecting women to societal pressure, stigma, and emotional distress. However, Adazoa’s openness has created a safe space for many to find solace and practical support.
Beyond her advocacy, she credits her husband, Mr. Abrefa, for standing by her through the challenges.
“If you don’t have a man who can stand by you during your hardest times, you will easily give up,” she said.
“We have faced so much. I thank my husband because he is truly one in a million. I can’t imagine a young man deciding to stand by me through all of this. I believe that one day, God will answer my prayers too.”
