Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that Minority Leader Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin had detailed knowledge of discussions held during a private NDC caucus meeting.
According to Ablakwa, during the live vetting of Dr. Omane Boamah, Afenyo-Markin signaled for him to step aside.

“When I went to see him, what we discussed was that he had just been told that the NDC had held a caucus meeting, and in that meeting, I raised some serious concerns about his conduct, and I said we must bring it to his attention and must be contained at the Appointments Committee,” Ablakwa said.
He added that Afenyo-Markin was not pleased with what he had heard. “He said, ‘Why do I think he is misconducting himself and that he has been told what I said at the NDC caucus meeting?’” Ablakwa recounted.
When asked how the Effutu MP obtained such sensitive information from an internal NDC meeting, Ablakwa admitted that it was concerning. “We have all kinds of friendships, but that’s clearly a matter that we shouldn’t be proud of,” he said.
