Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has strongly refuted claims made by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin regarding his income declaration and alleged property ownership.
During an interview on TV3’s Key Points, Ablakwa challenged Afenyo-Markin to substantiate his claims.
“I challenge the Honorable Afenyo-Markin to prove when, during the vetting, I said that I earned only GHC15,000. Did you hear me say that?” he asked, dismissing the assertion as false.
The controversy stems from Afenyo-Markin’s suggestion that Ablakwa misrepresented his earnings during his vetting. The Minister, however, insists that such claims are baseless and politically motivated.

Beyond his income, Ablakwa also addressed allegations regarding a property in Airport Hills. “I have heard them engage in all kinds of illogical attacks.
“First, they claim that the Airport Hills property belongs to me, and then they put out fake flyers, claiming they have discovered documents—documents they never publish,” he stated.
He went further to demand proof, challenging his critics: “I challenge them today to produce the document they say they have, which shows that the Airport Hills land belongs to my sister.”
