Ghanaian actress Gloria Sarfo has publicly called for a formal apology from the organizers of an event that left several prominent actors stranded at the airport.
In an impassioned plea on Accra 100.5 FM’s “Ayekoo Ayekoo” show, she emphasized the need for respect and recognition for the contributions of the film industry to the nation.
“We can’t take this. This was total disrespect and disregard,” Sarfo declared, highlighting that her call for a public apology was not a personal vendetta but a demand for the entire industry.

The incident, which saw legendary actors waiting at the airport from as early as 5 AM, left many feeling humiliated and undervalued. “I’m not seeking anything for myself but for the industry. Think about the legends who went to the airport as early as 5 AM and we stranded,” she lamented.
Sarfo pointed out that private apologies extended to the affected actors were insufficient. She insisted on a public apology, a press release, or a communique to the industry and the nation, emphasizing that such gestures would acknowledge the mistake and respect the contributions of the actors.
“I won’t make it [the apology sent to her] public until they make a public apology,” she stated firmly.
The actress also touched on the broader implications of such incidents for the Ghanaian film industry. She warned that if such disrespect continued unchecked, it would set a precedent for the continued undervaluing of Ghanaian talent.
“If we don’t demand such things, Ghanaians will be taken forever for granted. We need to assert our value. The industry is suffering,” she stressed.
Gloria Sarfo’s call for respect and recognition resonates with many in the industry who feel that their contributions are often overlooked. T
