Ablakwa’s Claims Are A Twisted Narration Of Events To Pursue A Malicious Political Agenda – Rev. Kusi-Boateng

The Secretary to the National Cathedral Board of Trustees has denied allegations of wrongdoing made against him.

Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng says the claims by the North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa are inaccurate.

In a statement by the Reverend Minister, he said he will respond to the defamatory statements in due course.

“I wish to assure the general public that the statements made by Mr. Ablakwa are a twisted narration of events to pursue a malicious political agenda. There has never been any criminal intent nor any crime committed in my dealings with the Government of Ghana or the National Cathedral.”

“I will subsequently also address the matters fully in public without first seeking to prejudice the public mind as he has done.”

On the conflict of interest claim, the founder of the Power Chapel Worldwide says he will not comment since Mr. Ablakwa has petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

“I have taken note of some defamatory publications and allegations made against my person by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu.

“I look forward to the (CHRAJ) enquiry during which I will present my side of the matter to the Commission.

“Additionally, when all is done, I will seek redress against Mr. Ablakwa for his deliberate defamatory statements against me”, he noted.

Nonetheless, the Reverend Minister pledged his commitment to the success of the construction of the National Cathedral.

“I will continue to contribute my quota to the National Cathedral project and offer my services to the Country to the best of my ability.”

The Allegations

Mr. Ablakwa recently alleged the payment of GHS2.6 million of cathedral funds to a company called JNS Talent Centre Limited.

In a Facebook post on Monday, January 16, the MP said Rev. Kusi-Boateng is among the three directors of JNS Talent Centre but uses the name, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

The MP suspects Rev. Kusi-Boateng might be using questionable means to divert funds from the National Cathedral Project. Mr. Ablakwa also accused him of using multiple passports with different names and dates of birth.

He says the pastor also uses two Tax Identification Numbers (TIN) in violation of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s requirements.

“For the avoidance of doubt, there is no distinct Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is a criminal creation of Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng. The two are therefore one and the same.”

He alleged that at different times, the pastor has travelled with both passports. The MP says he will question the Foreign Affairs Minister to justify why the pastor holds a diplomatic passport.

The MP is thus demanding the removal of the reverend minister from the National Cathedral Board of Trustees. In that Facebook post, he threatened to drag the pastor to CHRAJ, which he has executed.
