Ablakwa Claims ₵790,000 Raised From US Fundraising Was Used For Two Conferences At Kempinski Hotel

North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has alleged that the National Cathedral administration used all the funds from a fundraiser in the United States to pay for two conferences in Accra.

Ablakwa, who has been serially publishing alleged records of public cash poured into the project, made the latest claim in a Facebook post.

The legislator claimed, without citing his sources, that two conferences hosted by the Bible Museum at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra cost approximately GH$794,000 in total.

The Bible Museum, which will be located within the Cathedral, is being promoted as a key source of income for the building on account of the number of religious visitors it is expected to attract.

On January 4, Ablakwa posted on Facebook about the Cathedral Secretariat’s efforts to seek money for the project’s completion after Parliament had previously rejected a spending item for the project in the 2023 budget.
