Kenyan hip-hop artiste Andrew Kabiru Karuku, also known as Abbas Kubaff, has a daughter named Sofia with his British wife, Anna. He and his family have relocated to Malta in Europe.
Abbas, born January 8, 1978, is a Nairobi-raised Kenyan hip-hop artist. He began in 1995 as a member of the rap group K-South and later as a solo artist, and has shaped and pioneered rap music in East Africa. Abbas, his sibling KC, and his neighbour’s friend Bamboo founded the band K-South. After KC went AWOL and Bamboo moved to the United States in 2005, the group disbanded. As a solo artist, Abbas is well-known for songs such as “Chapaa” and “Tokelezea”.
He was awarded the Chaguo La Teeniez Awards in 2008 and the Golden Mic in 2011. In 2006, Kubaff released his debut album, “Angabanga.” He has performed in Nairobi as the opening act for Coolio, Lost Boyz, Maxi Priest, and Akon. He has also toured extensively in Europe.

He promoted “Nairoberry” on his own at a party called “K Day,” which over 3,000 hip-hop fans and supporters of entertainment in Kenya attended.
