A Plus is making headlines yet again—not for his outspokenness or social commentary, but for his possible elevation to a key leadership position in Parliament.
According to a report by MyNewsGH, the Member of Parliament-elect for Gomoa Central is being considered by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the position of 2nd Deputy Speaker in the next Parliament.
Though unconfirmed, the news has sparked widespread interest, and A Plus himself has weighed in. “I haven’t been officially informed,” he admitted in an interview, adding with gratitude, “Just being considered—or even hearing the rumour—is an honour in itself.

When I think about where I started, this is truly humbling.”
A Plus’s journey to Parliament has been anything but conventional.
Known for his sharp critiques of political leadership, particularly the outgoing NPP government, and his no-nonsense analysis on UTV’s United Showbiz, he transitioned from activism to governance with remarkable success.
Running as an independent candidate in the December 7 elections, he clinched a resounding victory, securing 14,277 votes out of 36,026 cast.
His win dethroned the NPP’s Naana Eyiah Quansah, who managed 11,637 votes, while NDC’s Ywason Mohamed trailed with 10,112 votes.
If appointed as 2nd Deputy Speaker, Kwame A Plus’s role could mark a departure from traditional parliamentary norms, bringing a fresh, unconventional voice to Ghana’s legislature.
