Ghanaian musician and politician Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has sparked controversy with allegations that Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the outgoing Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, might have orchestrated the recent break-in at her office and residence.
Taking to Facebook, A Plus suggested the incident could be a calculated move to discredit the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and garner sympathy.
“Ursula Owusu could very well be behind the alleged attacks on her office and residence!” he wrote. “It wouldn’t be surprising if it were a ploy to tarnish the NDC’s image and gain sympathy.
If, after serving as Minister of Communications for eight years, her office and residence still lack CCTV cameras, it speaks volumes about the kind of associates Akufo-Addo worked with—more focused on theatrics than substance.”
The incident in question occurred on the afternoon of Monday, December 9, 2024. Unidentified intruders reportedly broke into Ursula Owusu’s office, stealing valuables and causing significant damage.

Items taken during the raid included cash, a branded Nissan Hardbody vehicle, a television set, a printer, two stabilizers, mobile phones, food supplies, and three brand-new motorbikes.
The perpetrators didn’t stop at theft; they also vandalized CCTV cameras, barbed wire, and the main door of the property.
Authorities are still investigating the incident and have yet to determine a motive, though some speculate it could be linked to the heightened tensions following Ghana’s 2024 general elections.
A Plus’s accusation has added a new layer to an already tense political climate. Known for his candid commentary, the MP-elect for Gomoa Central didn’t hold back in questioning Ursula’s handling of security during her tenure.
“For someone who has been at the helm of communication and technology, the absence of basic security measures like functional CCTV cameras is baffling,” he remarked.
