5 Tips And Tricks To Wear A Dress Without Bra

, Ghana Street Journal

Many women in our part of the world often find it uncomfortable to wear bras, especially with the consistently high temperatures we have been experiencing in Ghana lately.

Additionally, some women may experience shoulder and neck pain due to the weight of their breasts.

To help you feel more comfortable going braless under a dress, GhanaStreetJournal has put together some useful tips for you to consider before heading out.

Invest In Attire With Built-In Support

You will often find glamorous gowns and heavily beaded designer suits that have built-in support. However, if you explore further, you may also discover corset tops with bra caps already installed.

These tops are comfortable, but it is important to exercise caution when purchasing them as the cups of the built-in bra may not be the correct size for you.

The recommended approach is to buy a top that has cups in your size, even if the rest of the blouse is larger, and then have it adjusted by a tailor at a later time.

Stitch Bra Cups Into Your Tops

You have the option to bypass all the unnecessary drama and effortlessly incorporate a bra into your dress. It’s incredibly simple and incredibly convenient. The trick is to select garments that you frequently wear to the office.

By transforming them, you can make your life more comfortable and carefree. All you have to do is wear that top and determine where the bra should be positioned.

Next, take your old bras, detach the cups, and sew them onto the dress. If you don’t have any old bras, you can also purchase custom sew-in cups and apply them to your dress using the same technique.

Tape Your Bust

Nowadays, there are many body tapes available in the market. While some are for sensitive skin, with less or natural adhesive, others come in a variety of colours and textures.

All these help to support your breast without actually irritating the skin and showing from the inside of the dress. There are also special medical grade tapes, it is for people who can’t wear a bra due to medical conditions, and hence, they use these.

Medical tapes can be removed with the help of warm water. This trick you can also try with all other tapes to further protect your skin.

Simply tape your bust vertically, while going up to the shoulder to maintain the shape of the breast. However, if you’re wearing an off-shoulder dress, you can tape the bust vertically too.

Body Shapers

Wearing a body shaper can address two concerns simultaneously. Firstly, it can enhance your physique most favourably, and secondly, it allows you to wear any outfit without the need for a bra.

Before purchasing shapewear, there are a few factors to consider. Not all full-body shapers offer coverage for the bust area. Additionally, if you desire versatile shapewear, a strapless option would be your optimal choice. You can easily attach or detach straps as per your preference.

Stick-On Silicone Bras

If you are looking to alleviate back and shoulder pain by skipping a traditional bra, consider giving stick-on silicone bras a try.

They can be found in a wide range of sizes and colours, both in stores and online. Rest assured that these bras are designed with natural adhesive and soft padding to prevent any harm to your skin. Additionally, these cups are reusable and washable for your convenience.
